Our Bald Head Island cottage sits on the 11th fairway of the beautiful Bald Head Island golf course. The reverse floor plan allows for breathtaking views.

"Unwynding" was custom built and professionally decorated.  The second floor features a great room that opens to a screened porch and sun deck.  The second floor also has large private bonus room with queen sleeper and powder room.  The first floor features 3 bedrooms, (2 Queens, 2 Twins), each having its own private bath.  Also on the first floor are a full laundry, open foyer, and front and rear porches.  The private Guest Cottage (crofter) bedroom/bathroom (Queen) sits above the golf cart garage and also has its own rocking chair deck.  The setting is very private and quiet but just a 2 minute golf cart ride to the ocean or shopping.

Our guests enjoy the passenger-car free environment of BHI by getting around in one of our two 4-passenger golf carts (featuring street-legal equipment) or on one of our bicycles.

Temporary memberships to either or both the Bald Head Island Club (with golf, tennis and fitness center privileges) and Shoals Club beach club are available to our guests. 

Our Story

We are a family of 4 from Chapel Hill, NC.  'Unwynding' on Bald Head Island is our favorite pastime.

We selected Unwynding for our home because it is about the nicest  of its size on the BHI golf course. It is sunny and bright, centrally-located, and just a short walk or cart ride to the beach.
